August 27, 2014 – Consumers with questions regarding existing or new long term care insurance policies can get answers on Labor Day morning according to an announcement today by the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance.

“We know people don’t always have the time to connect with an expert during the week so we are pleased to make the service available on Labor Day, Monday, September 1st,” explains Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance.   The Los Angeles based national trade organization will have experts staffing phones on Labor Day morning to take consumer questions and offer assistance.

“When people are looking into long term care insurance for the first time, they typically have questions that their agent can’t adequately answer,” Slome notes.  “They are concerned about the risk of future rate increases or whether they are looking at the right features and options.  We hope to give them some information and help make their decision process easier.”

An increasing number of consumers calling the Association offices have received a rate increase notice.  “We’ll explain that the insurer will offer options to avoid paying more money,” Slome adds.  “And, we can almost guarantee them that their insurance costs less than the cost of a new policy and that assumes they can health qualify.  That helps folks feel much better about their decision.”

Consumers interested in calling the Association hotline can call 818-597-3227 between the hours of 8 AM and noon (Pacific Time).  They can also send questions to Jesse Slome via the  Association’s website www.aaltci.org .  The American Association for Long Term Care Insurance was established in 1998 to create heightened awareness for the importance of planning and to support insurance professionals who market LTC solutions.
