March 27, 2014 – Showing individuals highly affordable ways to obtain long term care insurance is the single best way to increase sales of this important protection according to a leading industry expert.
“The Great Recession has impacted not just the financial lives of millions but the way we all think about discretionary purchases,” explains Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance, a national trade group. Slome will be a keynote speaker at the upcoming 2014 National Long Term Care Solutions Sales Summit being held May 18-20, 2014 in Kansas City.
“Every segment of the economy has changed and you can’t act as if nothing is different,” he adds. “A vast segment of the population is more price conscious than ever and that’s a good thing but one needs to understand how the consumer thinks and the best ways to meet their expectations with an affordable option of solutions. That’s something regrettably many insurance professionals do not do when it comes to long term care insurance coverage.”
Slome’s keynote will be streamed live and made available for free from the conference. His speech can be viewed online live on Monday, May 18, 2014 starting at 10:00 A.M. Eastern Time. The conference segment will be streamed live by Virtual Insurance Conferences & Expos, the company focused on streaming virtual insurance conferences.
The Association director advocates what he refers to as a ‘Good, Better, Best’ approach to long term care insurance protection. ”People make similar decisions every day, selecting the grade of gas to put into their car or the level of cable television service they are subscribing to,” Slome notes. “Long term care insurance is basically a commodity in the eyes of consumers and understanding how to effectively give consumers viable choices will benefit the prospect.”
