Watch this video: Options for individuals who can not qualify for long-term care insurance
Los Angeles, CA – July 22, 2015 – A new video produced by the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance shares an option for individuals who can not health qualify for traditional LTC insurance.
“Anywhere from 20-to-40 percent of the individuals who apply for long term care insurance are declined because of existing health issues,” shares Jesse Slome, director of the Association and head of the newly formed National Advisory Center for Short Term Care Information. “They should know that there are still viable options that can provide benefits should they need care in a nursing home, assisted living facility or in their own home.”
The national expert produced the eight-minute video that shares insights into a short term care option. “This is our first such effort but there will be many more because millions of Americans need to learn about all the various options that exist,” Slome adds.
Short term care insurance policies typically provide benefits for one year or less. “For many people that is all the care they will ever need,” Slome points out. According to industry data, almost half (49%) of all long-term care insurance claims last one year or less.
“One thing is for certain,” Slome concludes. “You are going to hear a whole lot more about short term care insurance solutions and that’s a good thing for consumers as well as insurance professionals who offer these solutions.
